Artist Spotlight: Scoobert Doobert

Image
Scoobert Doobert is an American Low-Fi artist based out of California. He got started in the music industry by his neighbor winning a guitar and leaving it at Scoobert Doobert’s house which led him to learning how to play which evolved into him writing songs as well as recording them. Recording songs is a very expensive process so Scoobert had to figure out how to sell/promote his new found recording addiction. When discussing his musical inspirations Scoobert Doobert stated “ Ryan Guldemond inspired me to be a producer/writer. Though I’ve only met him in passing, he helped me think bigger about the role of the writer. Derek MixedbyAli Ali taught me a ton of mixing tips hanging in his studio. Watching BB King helped me learn subtlety and story telling. David Byrne’s book (and music) showed me how to better explore artistic depth and album cycles. Annie Clark / St Vincent is my biggest guitar tone inspiration. Bernard Purdue, Questlove, and Patrice Rushen are my ...

Artist Spotlight Announcement: Limrinse

Image
Limrinse a South Africa singer got his start in the music industry by making electronic music because he was inspired by Deadmau5, I Remember and Faxing Berlin it was a magical experience for Limrise hearing all of those artists for the first time. Limrise got the name due to the fact he had a crush on a girl and googled that topic. The results came back with Limrinse meaning the desire to be with someone and have them reciprocate feelings for you. Since not too many people knew the term Limrinse decided to make it his artist name. Limrinse gets his inspiration from every song he likes as well as films. He likes to think music should make you imagine things, almost like creating a movie scene in your head. In one of Limrinse most popular songs titled “ Live A Lie” he is singing about trying to fit in with obnoxious and fake people that they can’t stand but do anyway just to feel like they belong, a very deep meaning song that I think everyone can relate to. In 2023 Limrins...

Artist Spotlight: Cody Randall

Image
Cody Randall is an American singer who started loving music around 10. He knew he was a good writer and sang well enough to pursue music but he also knew his weaknesses. He needed a management team and some type of investment to really take his music to the top. Posting on social media really pushed Cody Randall in the door of the music industry because that’s how his management team found him off of a viral song he had created on TikTok. One of his top songs on Spotify is “Remedy” which has amassed over 3.3 million plays. I asked Cody Randall how it felt to have a song be played over a million plays and he said “It was definitely a change of pace because it happened so quickly” He was very happy that enjoyed the song that much. He likes to think about the amount of plays he gets as people in a room else the numbers would get lost in translation. He also remembers thinking “Wow… that would fill up a whole stadium”. The song “Remedy” was written during a FaceTime he was on w...
