Artist Spotlight: Lil Meraki
Lil Meraki is a 20-year-old rapper out of Delhi, India. His name derives from the greek word Meraki meaning when we do something creative we give our soul to that work. While interviewing Lil Meraki I had the chance to learn about his creative process of incorporating traditional Indian samples with more American samples in his career. This stems from having both major influences from Indian rappers and American rappers. Some of his biggest inspirations for writing came from Lil Golu, and Badshah in India and he got inspiration in America from rappers like J.Cole, and Lil Wayne, and newer rappers like Lil Baby and Lil Durk. Lil Meraki explained that he wants to create his own sound and have people want to rap like him just like his predecessors Yo Yo Honey Singh and Ikka.
